Spooky skull

I used a manila tag for this project. I stamped the skull in black archival ink and coloured it in with frayed burlap and picket fence for the teeth. Then covered it with a mask and put brush strokes over it with twisted citron, carved pumpkin and dusty concord distress stain. The edges are inked with walnut stain distress ink. I splattered barn door ink over it and stained the crinkle ribbon also with barn door distress stain. The sentiment is stamped with distress embossing ink and embossed with a halloweeny powder I made from Mardi Gras embossing powder from Emerald Creek Crafts mixed with a tiny bit of orange powder. For eyes I added chunky gem brads also by Emerald Creek Crafts...

Thank you for stepping by.

Until next time, take care :-)

day one of Creative Chemistry 103 class

As most of you crafters will know this is the Summer of Creative Chemistry, We rehashed 101 and 102 and started 103.

Here are the projects I made for my homework:

I made these two tags with the ombre ink pad technique.

This tag is done with the highlight stamping technique.

The offset stamping technique is so amazing. It makes me want to step up my colouring game!

The washed watercolour technique was daunting at first. But it looks awesome!

Microglaze resist is a technique I have to practice a bit more.......

And that was day one. Day two will follow sortly :-)

Thank you for stepping by and taking the time to look at my qork.

Until next time, take care.

More alcohol ink based cards

I have been on a roll with my alcohol inks lately. I had to take a break to take the creative chemistry 103 course by Tim Holtz, but I am back at it.
A friend of mine ordered christmas cards to be sold on a christmas fair for charity. So I made a bunch more.
Thanks for stepping by :-)
Until next time, take care.

Travel themed tag for a challenge

I am in a Distress Ink Technique group on Facebook and we had to do a travel themed project. This is the tag I made.

Background is done with the wrinkle  free distress technique, using forest moss and tea dye. Stamped over with a map stamp with hickory smoke and the luggage is stamoed in walnut stain and then coloured with a waterbrush. The Bon Voyage is stamped in black archival ink and the stickers are distressed with walnut stain crayon. The crinkle ribbon is stained in chipped sapphire and fired brick.

Thanks for stepping by.

Until next time, take care.
